From the Siguatepeque region in the centre of Honduras, this coffee is grown by smallholder farmers belonging to a local cooperative that excels at producing quality washed arabica. The cooperative was founded in 1980 and with more than 40 years of experience in coffee production, they follow socially and environmentally responsible practices to take care of the regionās natural resources. Farmers implement best agricultural practices to increase their productivity and maximise their coffee quality.
Grown between the Comayagua and Montecillos mountain ranges, this lot is grown at around 1200 metres accounting for its pleasing chocolate thickness and flavour. Shaded by native forest, the coffee cherries take their time to ripen, providing the fresh stone fruit notes that back up the chocolate flavour.
